Radir Wheel History

Dick Rader started the company as Wheel Corporation of America in 1961. He was the first person to build custom wheels for street cars, and teamed up with Mickey Thompson for marketing from 1964-66. In 1967, he re-introduced the original Rader Wheel along with other various styles. Rader closed business in 1969.

Approximately 26 years later, the new Radir Wheel Co. started, manufacturing the original style wheels made in one piece cast aluminum. Radir Wheels currently offers 7 sizes of nostalgic aluminum wheels, and an 18x3 12-spoke aluminum spindle mount wheel. Radir Wheels has again teamed up with Mickey Thompson, and now produces 3 sizes of M/T Radir Drag slicks, made correctly in the traditional style. All Radir Wheels products are proudly made in the USA.

All Radir wheels are one piece cast aluminum and heat treated to T-6 specifications. All wheels are leak-tested and hand polished to keep their mirror finish. All wheels are tested to exceed 1580 lbs each.
